Look Up!

After Treasure premiered and started its festival run, I wanted to continue working on creative endeavors, but I wanted something short and simple and self-contained. What I came up with was Look Up!, a frothy comedy inspired by European art films of the 1970's.

The existential story follows Nicholas, a misanthropic gay teen who tries to manipulate everyone around him to satisfy his impatient impish desires.

This was my first post-film school film project - and it felt like it might be my last as we all went into lockdown during the Covid 19 pandemic. We shot the final scene in my university cafeteria moments before the school was locked up for over a year. During the next few unemployed months, I edited the film. It went on to a successful festival run, albeit entirely with online festivals.
